Sales Development Representative
The Leadership Agency
Mega is an AI-powered growth engine built to replace the traditional marketing agency for small and mid-sized businesses. Instead of selling software that owners have to learn and operate, Mega deploys a network of specialized AI agents — SEO & GEO, Paid Ads, Website, Conversion — that do the actual work: keyword research, content production, campaign management, technical fixes, and reporting. Customers feel like they've hired a high-quality growth team, but it runs as software.
Founded by a team that built the underlying AI tooling to supercharge their own growth (after starting out building a video game company), Mega pivoted hard once that internal tooling started outperforming anything on the market. The bet paid off: Mega is now trusted by 1,000+ SMBs, has been featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Business Insider, and Axios, and closed an $11.5M Series A in March 2026 led by Goodwater Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Atreides, SignalFire, and Kearny Jackson.
The commercial team is scaling fast to match — Mega is targeting roughly 50 new hires over the next six months, and this SDR hire is part of that push.
Highlights:
- HQ in Brooklyn, NY with a growing office in Montreal, QC — Montreal is the sales hub
- $11.5M Series A (March 2026) led by Goodwater Capital, with a16z, Atreides, SignalFire, Kearny Jackson and Valor Equity participating
- Board includes Andrew Chen (a16z), Vivek Subramanian (Goodwater) and Gavin Baker (Atreides)
- Angel roster includes Dharmesh Shah (HubSpot co-founder), Claire Hughes Johnson (Stripe), and WNBA/NBA investors including Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Plum, Nneka Ogwumike and JaVale McGee
- Series A capital is going directly into product and GTM — including a sales ops agent for lead qualification and appointment setting
- Featured in Forbes, WSJ, Fortune, Business Insider, and Axios
- Trusted by 1,000+ small and medium-sized businesses
- Nearly the entire team to date has been built through referrals — this is one of the company's first pushes into external hiring channels
About the Role:
Mega has product-market fit and a pipeline problem worth solving: there are millions of SMB owners overpaying an agency for effort instead of outcomes, and most of them don't know a better option exists. This role exists to go find them. There's a clear path up. Mega is building the sales org now, and the people who help write the outbound playbook are the ones who get first look at AE and team lead seats as it scales.
Please note: this role is fully on-site in Montreal, QC. Mega is deliberately building an in-office sales floor.
Pipeline Generation:
- Own outbound prospecting into SMBs across cold calls, email, and LinkedIn
- Build and work targeted account lists against Mega's ICP — businesses spending $50K–$1M annually on marketing
- Hit and exceed weekly activity and meeting-booked targets; velocity is the job
- Maintain clean, disciplined CRM hygiene so pipeline data is actually trustworthy
Qualification & Discovery:
- Run first-call discovery that separates real buying intent from polite curiosity
- Diagnose what a prospect is currently paying an agency for — and what they're actually getting
- Qualify against budget, marketing spend, growth goals and timeline before booking
- Hand off warm, well-briefed opportunities so closers (AEs) walk in with context
AI-Enabled Selling:
- Use AI daily to research accounts, personalize outreach at volume, prep calls and follow up faster
- Test and iterate on sequences, hooks and call openers; keep what converts, kill what doesn't
- Build repeatable outbound motions the next five SDRs can run
Shaping the GTM Engine:
- Feed objections, competitive intel and buying triggers back to sales leadership, product and growth
- Influence messaging, targeting and positioning based on what you're hearing in-market
- Help document and build the outbound playbook as the team scales
About You
We're less interested in your resume than your wiring. You work hard because you know hours on the phone are what move the number. You're motivated by money — a big OTE excites you, it doesn't scare you. And you're competitive: you want to beat quota, and you want to beat the rep sitting next to you. Cold-calling or SDR experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
- 1–2 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or outbound sales experience
- Comfortable picking up the phone and cold-calling all day — this is a calling-first seat, not email/social-led
- Confident, clear communicator who can hold a conversation with a US-based business owner or decision-maker
- Resilient — you can take rejection call after call and keep your energy up
- Sharp commercial instincts: you can explain marketing ROI to an owner who isn't a marketer
- Already using AI tools in your workflow, or itching to
- Montreal-based and ready to be in-office five days a week
- Fluent in English
Bonus:
- Experience selling into SMB or local business owners
- Background in marketing, agency, or martech — you'll already speak the buyer's language
- Early-stage startup experience where you helped build process rather than inheriting it
The Extras that Matter
- Competitive base plus meaningful commission — Mega's reps are hitting OTE, not chasing a theoretical number
- Comprehensive health coverage
- Real career trajectory: the sales org is being built now, and early hires get first look at what's next
- Direct access to founders and sales leadership — no layers, fast feedback, weekly wins
- A product with defensible ROI, backed by a16z, Goodwater and Valor, in a market that's genuinely underserved
- Full-time, in-office culture in Montreal — fast-paced, high-energy, built for hustle
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $50,000 - $60,000
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000 - $120,000
