Total Compensation
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 80,000 – 110,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
We are seeking a Senior API Automation Tester with expertise in API automation and AI-driven testing. In this role, you will design advanced API automation frameworks using Java and Rest Assured while leveraging GenAI tools and AI agents across AWS environments.
In this role, you will
- Design and develop API automation frameworks using Java, Rest Assured, TestNG, and Postman.
- Automate REST API validation, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Leverage AI Agents/LLMs for test generation, self-healing automation, and intelligent validation.
- Validate API contracts, schemas, authentication (OAuth/JWT), and database integrations.
- Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and business teams to ensure quality delivery.

What You Need To Have To Be Considered
- 7+ years of QA experience, including at least 4+ years of strong hands-on automation experience in Selenium and REST API automation.
- 5+ years of Java, Rest Assured, Postman, Maven, TestNG
- 3+ years of API Testing, Microservices, JSON/XML
- AI Agents, GenAI tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Amazon Q)
- Must have knowledge of AWS stack: API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch
- Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Docker
- SQL and database validation.
- Healthcare Payer/Provider domain knowledge preferred.
- Experience with Agentic AI, MCP, self-healing automation frameworks.
- Exposure to AWS Bedrock and AI-powered testing solutions.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Claims, Enrollment, UM/CM, Facets/QNXT.
