To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Applies Engineering concepts and theories to deliver the development designs, calculations and technical solutions across a range of applications for Babcock products and services across the Engineering Product Lifecycle. An experienced Engineer, directly accountable for designs, calculations and technical solutions. Able to work under own initiative to produce high quality outputs. Capable of managing others and or delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience. Can apply a wider range of knowledge to complex situations. Provides mentoring to others.

This role is less focused on design, but more emphasized on understanding designs and being more focused on the maintenance. It is to understand the designs to inform the design and intent of the maintenance of the systems and plaforms Babcock uses. It is truly about conducting the maintainance of combat electrical systems such as radar, sonar and communications, while maintaining other platform electrical systems.

The ideal candidate brings:

• A Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering, licensed to practice in Canada as a Professional Engineer;
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience (marine industry considered an asset);
• 3+ years of submarine specific experience (considered an asset);
• Experience in reviewing/understanding designs and the maintenance of platform electrical systems such as power and distribution, control and instrumentation, motors, generators, pneumatics, hydrolics and propulsion
• Experience in the maintenance of combat electrical systems such as radar, sonar and communications
• Experience providing professional oversight and mentorship within a technical team; and
• Superior verbal and written communication skills, including writing formal reports, and making presentations
• You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
• Have the physical ability to climb and descend ladders and stairs to access work areas.
• Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
• Have the physical dexterity to allow for working in confined spaces and areas with limited room for movement.
• Is comfortable working on scaffolding at heights and around water.
• Is comfortable working in an industrial environment and around moving equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
