Senior Financial Analyst

About The Role

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, treasury administration, and business performance analysis. This position plays a critical role in supporting month-end close activities, corporate reporting requirements, management decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Accounting, Operations, Human Resources, Treasury, and Corporate Controlling, the Senior Financial Analyst ensures accurate and timely financial information is delivered to key stakeholders while supporting operational and business performance.

Your Mission

• Coordinate monthly Estimate, Flash, and Actual reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare, analyze, and report on Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, profitability, treasury activities, and working capital performance.
• Perform variance analysis and provide meaningful explanations for significant financial and operational fluctuations.
• Develop and maintain monthly management reporting packages, presentations, and performance dashboards.
• Conduct cost center, operating expense, sales, profitability, and business performance analysis.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across the organization.
• Partner with department managers and cost center owners to coordinate budget development and submissions.
• Prepare, validate, and upload financial, statistical, and planning data into corporate reporting systems.
• Support treasury activities including cash flow reporting, banking administration, and credit approval processes.
• Maintain project and turnaround cost tracking models, monitor contractor costs, and support accrual reporting.
• Complete quarterly, half-year, and year-end corporate reporting requirements, including reporting templates and detailed variance analyses.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses, business cases, presentations, and decision-support reporting for management.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls, automation, and reporting accuracy.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support special finance projects as required.
  
  

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• CPA designation, or progress toward CPA certification, is considered an asset.
• Minimum three years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, or accounting.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, energy, forestry, or similar operational environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance management.
• Experience working with SAP and financial reporting systems is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and analysis.
• Experience with SmartView, Hyperion, Merlin, or similar reporting tools is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain financial results to diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet reporting deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, integrity, and sound business judgment.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on optimizing processes and reporting quality.
