We design and operate global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems.

We work closely with frontier robotics teams to bridge real-world data, simulation, learning-based systems, and deployed hardware.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer based in Toronto to build and ship production web applications that power Mecka’s global operations.

This role is for an action-oriented builder who has delivered production web applications, writes clean and maintainable code, and wants to take ownership of features end-to-end—across the frontend, backend, and operational integrations. You should be someone who actively leverages modern AI tools to move faster, debug efficiently, and expand your impact.

You'll work directly with operators, data teams, and senior engineers to turn operational requirements into reliable, intuitive software.

What You’ll Work On

• Build & Maintain: Develop web applications for data labeling, data capture, and country/operations management using React (JavaScript / TypeScript) and modern frameworks (e.g., Next.js).
• User-Centric UX: Design clean, fast, and intuitive interfaces for non-technical users and international teams operating under real-world conditions.
• Backend Systems & APIs
• Services & APIs: Build and iterate on backend services using Node.js (Express/Fastify) and/or Python (FastAPI/Django).
• Operational Logic: Work with core business logic handling permissions, retries, data integrity, and background workflows for data-heavy operations.
  
  

Practical AI Integrations

• Feature Development: Integrate AI capabilities into internal tools where they add real value (e.g., automated data validation, normalization, workflow triggers, search, and internal tooling).
• Tooling & Workflows: Work with prompt-based systems and structured LLM integrations alongside our research and ops teams.
  
  

Feature Ownership & Execution

• End-to-End Delivery: Take features from design and implementation through testing and deployment.
• Production Support: Monitor, debug, and improve performance and reliability in production.
• Pragmatic Mindset: Balance speed, code cleanliness, and correctness with guidance from senior engineering leadership.
  
  

Who you are:

• 5-7 years of professional experience building and maintaining full-stack web applications in production environments.
• Solid Frontend Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript, React, and modern web frameworks.
• Solid Backend Skills: Hands-on experience developing REST/GraphQL APIs with Node.js and/or Python.
• Database & Data Basics: Practical experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ORMs.
• AI Tooling as a Force Multiplier: Active daily use of AI development tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.) to prototype faster, debug code, and increase productivity.
• End-to-End Execution: Ability to work across the stack to ship features and troubleshoot issues independently.

• Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or workflow-heavy applications.
• Comfort working alongside non-technical stakeholders (operations, product, leadership) to clarify feature requirements.
• Good instincts for keeping solutions simple and maintainable rather than over-engineering.
• Strong team player who communicates clearly, accepts feedback, and enjoys continuous learning.
  
  

Even better if you have:

• Exposure to cloud environments (*AWS, GCP, or Azure**) and standard deployment pipelines (CI/CD, Docker).
• Basic experience or strong curiosity regarding AI/LLM API integrations (e.g., prompt engineering, document extraction, vector search).
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL workflows, or handling data-intensive operations.
• Prior experience in consulting, client-facing roles, or fast-paced startup environments.
• Familiarity with mobile development (React Native) or design systems.
