Senior People & Organization Business Partner

North Vancouver

Regular, Full-Time

Hybrid

Would you like to play a key role in shaping the people strategies of one of the world's leading engineering consulting firms? We are seeking a trusted HR partner who thrives on solving complex business challenges, creating positive outcomes, and delivering results in an evolving environment. If you enjoy partnering with leaders, supporting organizational success, and creating meaningful employee experiences, we're eager to hear from you.

Lead with a team of experienced leaders

To support business leaders in advancing people, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement, we are seeking a Senior People & Organization Business Partner to join our team. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders across our Canadian operations, providing strategic HR guidance while supporting the delivery of some of North America's most significant engineering projects.

This is an opportunity for someone who has an operational mindset that can think strategically and execute tactically within an organization that is on a growth journey. You will have an important role in improving people programs, refining processes, and introducing initiatives that support a diverse, highly skilled workforce.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Partner with business leaders to support decision-making across the employee lifecycle, with a focus on employee relations, leadership coaching, talent management, and workforce mobility.
  • Serve as the lead HR partner for People & Organisation matters across eight offices throughout Western and Eastern Canada.
  • Collaborate with leaders, the North American HR team, and global Centres of Excellence (COEs) to deliver talent, mobility, learning, compensation, and other people initiatives.
  • Communicate and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that support business objectives, promote a positive employee experience, and ensure consistency and compliance across Canadian operations.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways, but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A CPHR designation, or equivalent HR certification (considered an asset).
  • A min. 8–10 years of progressive HR generalist experience supporting multiple business units in a global, matrixed environment, within a professional services, consulting, or technical organization.
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR practices across multiple provinces.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with leaders at all levels on employee relations, leadership coaching, talent management, succession planning, and employee development.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change initiatives across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Well-developed business acumen with the ability to navigate complex people matters, develop practical solutions, and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a high degree of judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
