The Opportunity:


ML6 is pleased to be partnering with a leading consumer goods manufacturer in their search for a Senior Director of Sales. Known for innovation, customer partnerships, and market leadership, the organization is committed to delivering sustainable growth through consumer-centric strategies, operational excellence, and high-performing teams.


As Senior Director of Sales, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the national sales strategy, driving profitable growth across key retail accounts, and leading a high-performing sales organization. Reporting to the Vice President & Head of Sales, you will influence enterprise strategy while strengthening executive customer relationships and delivering exceptional commercial results.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Lead customer-centric commercial and promotional strategies that anticipate evolving consumer behaviours and competitive dynamics.
  • Translate enterprise objectives into customer-specific growth plans that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Own pricing strategy, profitability, and commercial performance across a portfolio of national accounts.
  • Deliver revenue, margin, and profitability objectives through disciplined portfolio management and strategic investment decisions.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor customer business plans while ensuring effective budget management and return on investment.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key retail partners, acting as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • Lead senior customer engagements, negotiations, and presentations aligned with corporate strategy, innovation priorities, and brand objectives.
  • Ensure consistent execution of marketing, category, and commercial strategies across all assigned accounts.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Category Management, Finance, and Supply Chain to develop integrated customer solutions.
  • Leverage consumer insights, loyalty data, analytics, and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions and accelerate growth opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing commercial insight and strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding business performance, risks, and emerging opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales leadership team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Support succession planning and capability development to build future leadership strength within the organization.


What You'll Need to Be Successful:


  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within the CPG industry.
  • Extensive experience managing national retail accounts across grocery, mass merchandise, club, and pharmacy channels.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success delivering profitable growth and managing complex customer portfolios.
  • Deep understanding of category management, customer strategy, pricing, trade investment, and revenue management.
  • Proven ability to build and influence executive-level customer relationships.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset.


Compensation Range: $190,000 - $220,000 base salary
