Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Shipper/Receiver on morning shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment or machine used in manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

The Additional Responsibilities As Shipper/Receiver Will Include:

  • Conduct and record forklift pre-use inspections.
  • Secure trailers before loading/unloading activities.
  • Inspect trailers for damage.
  • Check loading tickets.
  • Use SAP and RF scanners to locate the required products.
  • Move stock in loading area as necessary.
  • Use SAP and RF scanners to record work transactions.
  • Use forklift to load trailers.
  • Handle finished products up to 50lbs.
  • Record and track information in inventory control system.
  • Verify trucks have been loaded properly.
  • Generate manifest and bills of lading.
  • Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
  • Unloaded products, trim, and chemicals as needed.
  • Perform weekly/monthly inventory count.
  • Ensure dock bays and outside dock is clean and safe for use.

Skills And Requirements

  • Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Forklift experience and license is required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment is an asset.
