Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment. Comply with all safety and quality policies and procedures including lockout tag out, GMP, HACCP and Allergen.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the supervisor.
- Work within larger team to perform the activities outlined below. Blommer Chocolate receives bulk sugar / liquid, and palletized shipments; the number of each will vary within each shift.
- Liquid / Bulk, incoming process - Inspect truck, verify carrier information, confirm documentation. Attach hoses, monitor equipment during offloading process (sweco, filters, magnets, pumps). Communicate any concerns to the shift supervisor immediately.
- Palletized shipments, incoming process - Inspect truck and container, verify carrier information, seals are intact and match shipping delivery paperwork. Confirm the overall appearance and smell of truck is clean, sanitary, with no damage that would allow rodents or foreign material to get into the product. Communicate any concerns to the shift supervisor immediately.
- Visually inspect deliveries. Communicate any concerns to the shift supervisor immediately.
- Unload and store received product in designated area, stacking properly within height limits.
- Maintain inventory accuracy in computer system. Perform cycle counting as assigned.
- Stage raw materials and packaging. Move finished goods from production to proper storage areas. Ensure all movements are recorded properly in the system.
- Dry Goods, Outgoing process - Inspect truck to ensure clean, no sign of infestation and odor free with no holes. Fulfill customer orders, record proper lot number, quantity and product. Load and secure shipment to avoid spillage, tipping or damage to packaging. Prepare paperwork as directed.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods of time
- Able to set up, adjust and operate machinery, including pumps, valves, hoses, etc.
- Regularly required to bend, stoop, and reach
- Able to observe and detect issues
- Occasionally ascend/descend stairs
- Occasionally move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements:
- Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment
- Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout requirements for hazardous energy sources
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards
- Adhere to FDA HACCP guidelines
- Adhere to Allergen Management best practices for food manufacturers
- Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct
Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
- 1-2 years' experience
- Fork Lift experience is an asset
- Working at heights is an asset
- Able to follow clear instructions
- Able to read and write English to perform tasks successfully
- Basic technology skills to record data into computer or electronic tablet
- Continuous attention to details in performing all tasks
- Comfortable working as an individual contributor as well as with a team, as required
- Expected to identify, communicate/escalate and problem-solve as issues arise
- Able to interface with truck carriers and inventory control personnel
- Math skills to perform inventory cycle counting
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. The base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, education, certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
Pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
This is a 12-hour day rotation position
