Skilled Labourer

We are seeking a Labourer classification 3, which is equivalent to an experienced construction worker capable of performing skilled labour tasks independently. This role involves operating advanced power tools and machinery, specifically we are seeking someone with Telehandler experience. The labourer will follow detailed work instructions, and maintain high safety standards. With several years of industry experience and specialized training or certifications, the Labourer classification 3 contributes to efficient job-site operations and provides guidance to less-skilled workers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of skilled construction labour tasks independently and in support of the broader site team.
• Assist the team with general labour duties as required, contributing wherever needed to support efficient site operations.
• Operate advanced power tools and machinery, including but not limited to jackhammers, concrete mixers, compactors, and power saws.
• Assist in site preparation, material handling, demolition, excavation, concrete work, cleanup, and other assigned tasks.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, trades, and fellow labourers to maintain a productive, organized, and team-oriented job site.
• Provide support, direction, and informal training to junior labourers and newer team members. Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, hazard controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance.
• Identify potential safety risks and report or correct them immediately.
• Work in all weather and climatic conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and varying site conditions
• Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on operational and project requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Several years (3–5+) of experience as a construction labourer or in a similar role.
• Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks, lifting materials, and standing or walking for extended periods.
• Proven ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Strong understanding of construction techniques, tools, and materials.
• Able and willing to work in an active construction site environment, including outdoors and in varying weather and climate conditions, with exposure to dust, dirt, noise, debris, and other typical construction site conditions.
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of workplace safety expectations and safe work practices.
• Strong willingness to learn, take direction, and develop within the construction industry.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing priorities on site.
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced construction environment.
