QUALIFICATIONS


  • Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers Licence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology
  • One (1) year equivalent full time experience with inventory management functions within the last three (3) years
  • Knowledge of computerized Inventory management software
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures
  • Ability to display independent judgment
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Area Manager Materials Management, the incumbent performs the functions designed to facilitate the receipt and delivery of goods to departments and programs within Brandon Regional Health Centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:

RECEIVING

  • Receives all incoming equipment and supplies. Checks for visible damage.
  • Unpacks materials, verifies items with packing slip and computer terminal. Reports concealed damages or discrepancies to Purchasing or Area Manager for all items.
  • Checks waybill with conditions outlined on computer terminal and reports any discrepancies to Area Manager.
  • Processes all necessary paperwork such as delivery slips, supply lists, etc.

    STORING
  • Place inventory in proper location on shelves in a manner that facilitates the issuing of all existing stock first.
  • Keeps shelves in an orderly and clean condition.
  • Reports outdated and obsolete items to the Area Manager.

    STOCK ISSUES/SHIPPING
  • Fills supply requisitions from all departments and records corresponding issues on requisition.
  • Notifies Area Manager or Purchasing when supplies reach critically low levels.
  • Observes supply requisition to determine if computer code corresponds with description of items being ordered.
  • Responsible for packaging or crating and shipping of all materials leaving the Hospital and recording such transactions on the appropriate forms provided.
  • Maintains files in a manner as instructed by the Area Manager (delivery slips and packing slip attached to the purchase order).
  • Answers phone inquiries.
  • Operates heavy material handling equipment and exposure to prolonged physical labour.
  • Follows direction and adheres to written procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
