At Mott MacDonald, we are seeking a skilled professional to join our dynamic team in Vancouver. As a Structural Designer, you will play a crucial role in preparing structural 3D models and extracting 2D drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of our designs on a variety of built environment projects.
As a Structural Designer, your roles and responsibilities are expected to include:
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
The expected salary range for this position is from $94,000 - $115,000.

At Mott MacDonald, we are seeking a skilled professional to join our dynamic team in Vancouver. As a Structural Designer, you will play a crucial role in preparing structural 3D models and extracting 2D drawings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of our designs on a variety of built environment projects.
As a Structural Designer, your roles and responsibilities are expected to include:
- Create 3D structural models using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Prepare 2D packages from the design models.
- Developing General Arrangement and detailed drawings for concrete and steel structures.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and the project engineering team for structural design requirements.
- Create drawings including sheet and view creation with minimal supervision.
- Develop technical drawings from sketches (determining appropriate scales, arrangement, and specific details of the drawings) from the concepts required by the engineering team.
- Respect and enforce policies and procedures in the preparation of drawings.
- Realize the different stages of the project in the timeframes and budgets.
- Run clash detection exercises and do the necessary corrections.
- Perform other related duties that may contribute to the projects.
- Mentor junior designers through project assignments.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in structural design, specifically in creating 3D structural models of concrete and steel structures in the built environment sector.
- Hold an associate or higher degree in automated drawing or civil/structural engineering technology or in a related field or working to obtain their degree.
- Experience working in construction is an asset.
- Have good communication skills (oral and written) in English.
- Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Naviswork, Dynamo, Etabs, Safe and MS Office is essential.
- Knowledge of ProjectWise, ACC, Rhino, Rhino Inside Revit, Grasshopper, CSIxRevit is an added benefit.
- Ability to work to meet cost objectives, quality, and deadlines.
- Time management skills and adaptation to change.
