What You Can Expect
This role serves as a business-facing technology resource focused on strengthening compliance controls, improving cross-border visibility, reducing manual work, and enabling more informed decision-making across multiple organizations, ERP environments, and legal entities. The position supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of digital solutions that enhance governance, risk management, audit readiness, and operational execution in a highly regulated trade environment.
A key component of the role is supporting the evolution of Global Trade Management (GTM) technology, compliance-related business systems, and AI-enabled intelligence layers that integrate with ERP platforms and related applications to provide a centralized control tower view for trade activity, risk exposure, broker visibility, duty analytics, legal compliance support, and cross-border reporting.
This individual acts as a change agent, partnering with Trade Compliance, Legal, IT, Operations, Finance, Logistics, Procurement, and other business stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize solutions, and drive adoption of scalable digital tools across current and future platforms such as CMS, IFS, GTM systems, analytics environments, broker connectivity tools, and workflow automation solutions.

Core Mandate
- Build and support execution of a digital transformation roadmap across Trade and Compliance.
- Identify and eliminate manual, fragmented, and low-value compliance and administrative work through automation and improved system design.
- Strengthen technology-enabled controls that support regulatory compliance, trade governance, audit readiness, and legal risk management.
- Enable the use of AI-driven tools and decision support across compliance monitoring, documentation, classification, screening, duty analysis, and risk visibility.
- Help transform trade, compliance, and legal-operational data into a strategic asset for reporting, analytics, and governance.
- Support the development of a connected control tower environment for visibility into cross-border activity, compliance exposure, operational exceptions, and risk trends.
- Drive adoption, standardization, and process discipline across functions and business units.
Digital Transformation and Process Improvement
- Lead digital transformation initiatives from concept through implementation, stabilization, and user adoption.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize processes across Trade Compliance, Legal, Logistics, and other cross-border business functions.
- Eliminate manual reporting, disconnected workflows, and compliance bottlenecks through automation, workflow tools, and improved system utilization.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define priorities, develop business cases, and sequence digital initiatives based on value, compliance risk, and operational impact.
- Support the evolution, administration, and optimization of international trade compliance technology, including GTM platforms, automation workflows, content management, and reporting capabilities.
- Help define how GTM platforms, AI intelligence layers, and related systems integrate with ERP environments and supporting business applications.
- Partner with Trade Compliance, Legal, and IT to improve technology-enabled controls for areas such as product classification, country of origin, free trade agreement qualification, denied party screening, customs data quality, broker visibility, duty analytics, tariff exposure, and trade risk reporting.
- Support digital tools and workflows that improve contract compliance, record retention, audit support, regulatory documentation, and governance across multiple organizations.
- Strengthen visibility and control over cross-border transactions, customs requirements, broker processes, and trade-related legal obligations.
- Evaluate and deploy AI-enabled tools to improve compliance monitoring, exception management, documentation review, risk identification, and cross-border decision support.
- Support the development of dashboards, analytics, and data models that improve visibility into compliance performance, duty exposure, customs activity, broker execution, and legal-operational risk.
- Help build a corporate control tower approach that provides cross-functional visibility into trade compliance risk, cross-border operations, and key business metrics.
- Translate business requirements into actionable analytics, system logic, and technology-enabled insights.
- Act as the business-facing owner and coordinator for cross-functional digital requirements, ensuring Trade Compliance, Legal, and cross-border needs are aligned across platforms.
- Support ERP and business system transformation efforts, including current-state and future-state process design, data readiness, and business requirements alignment.
- Help ensure business processes, data structures, and digital tools are effectively connected across IFS, GTM, broker platforms, BI tools, workflow solutions, and other supporting systems.
- Serve as the bridge between business teams and IT or external system providers to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with compliance and legal requirements.
- Establish and reinforce data governance practices that improve master data quality, reporting accuracy, traceability, and system trust.
- Develop documentation, process maps, standards, and user guidance to support scalable and sustainable adoption.
- Lead or support training, communication, and change management activities for new compliance tools, workflows, and reporting structures.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, disciplined data management, compliance by design, and digital adoption.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, or experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in business systems, enterprise applications, IT delivery, systems integration, digital transformation, compliance technology, or technology project management.
- Experience leading or supporting technology-enabled business transformation initiatives.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of cross-functional business processes, enterprise data flows, and operational reporting.
- Exposure to international trade compliance, customs, cross-border operations, legal workflows, regulatory compliance, or governance-related systems is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and translate business requirements into practical digital solutions.
- Experience working with external software providers, implementation partners, or integration teams is considered an asset.
- Data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, Power Query, or similar.
- Experience with automation and workflow tools.
- Understanding of system integration concepts, data mapping, platform connectivity, and business process design.
- Exposure to AI, intelligent automation, or machine-learning-enabled business applications.
- Familiarity with ERP environments and enterprise data structures.
- Experience with GTM, trade compliance systems, customs data tools, or compliance-related platforms is an asset.
