The Role
The McArthur River radiation team is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of employees at site by identifying radiation risks and mitigating those risks for successful production. As a key member of the radiation department, you will assist in ensuring compliance for the radiation protection program and you will also be responsible for providing radiation support to the operations

The Role
The McArthur River radiation team is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of employees at site by identifying radiation risks and mitigating those risks for successful production. As a key member of the radiation department, you will assist in ensuring compliance for the radiation protection program and you will also be responsible for providing radiation support to the operations
In This Role, You Will
- collect, maintain, and analyze radiation monitoring data and ensure compliance with radiation protection standards to support the safety of all workers.
- issue and administer radiation work permits, provide operational guidance on radiation safety practices, and support safe execution of work activities across site.
- investigate and resolve radiation-related challenges, including source detection and ventilation issues, while assisting with incident investigations.
- manage the site's Power Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) program, including equipment cleaning, maintenance coordination, and training personnel on site-specific respiratory protection requirements.
- collaborate with the Safety, Health, Radiation, Environment, and Quality (SHREQ) team and other departments while responding to requests for support.
- Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent;
- Radiation or environmental monitoring technician certificate, or a post-secondary education in a science related field;
- Two to four years of applicable work experience with radiation protection principles;
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- Class 5 driver’s license;
- Able to work independently and as part of team with safety as a core value;
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; and
- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs;
- Mining experience, specifically at a uranium mine site; and
- An aptitude and desire to become a member of the emergency response team.
- Pre-employment substance test; and
- Class 5 driver’s license.
