WHY CALGARY AIRPORTS

Powered by heart and dedicated to excellence, we’re the team that keeps Calgary connected – and you could be our newest member.

We’re in the business of uplifting people, and every day, we create runways to new places and possibilities, building a better airport experience for everyone.

What’s The Team Like

The Spatial Data Services team is a collaborative and supportive group of spatial data enthusiasts and problem solvers who enjoy sharing ideas, learning from one another, and tackling complex challenges together. We celebrate success, whether that’s developing a clever FME automation, improving a process, or delivering work that creates value for Calgary Airports, while encouraging continuous learning and innovation. Guided by curiosity, trust, and collaboration, we work hard, support one another, and take pride in helping shape the future of Calgary Airports. For those who find themselves fascinated by airports, aircraft, infrastructure, and how it all comes together behind the scenes, you'll feel right at home on our team.

What Are Some Of The Responsibilities

  • Create maps, technical drawings, exhibits, dashboards, presentations, and other visual products that help teams understand infrastructure, facilities, assets, operational constraints, and development opportunities.
  • Translate engineering, architectural, operational, environmental, and asset information into clear visual materials that support planning, construction, infrastructure investment, and decision making for airport major projects.
  • Maintain accurate facility record drawings, GIS information, spatial databases, and asset records that document airport buildings, utilities, airfield systems, infrastructure, and project-related changes.
  • Review consultant and contractor project submissions against Calgary Airports’ CAD standards, GIS standards, facility record requirements, and project closeout specifications before records are accepted into airport systems.
  • Validate and integrate approved project drawings, models, records, asset attributes, and documentation into authoritative airport record systems to reflect installed infrastructure and completed facility changes.
  • Reconcile differences between field conditions, project documentation, and existing records to maintain accurate infrastructure information for current and future airport projects.
  • Apply CAD, GIS, facility record, and data governance standards when creating, updating, reviewing, and distributing spatial and facility information for projects and operational initiatives.
  • Develop, test, and maintain automation tools, scripts, workflows, and data processing solutions that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility of spatial and facility information used to support airport projects
