Description:
As the Telecommunications Officer, you will monitor radio activity to maintain awareness of field activities, ensure pertinent operational information is shared and provide an immediate link to emergency and non-emergency assistance on behalf of Protective Services Officers.
Classification: Telecom Operator/Dispatcher Union: AUPE GSS Unit and Program: Protective Services, Provincial Security Operations Primary Location: Alberta Hospital Edmonton Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 03-SEP-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Date Available: 15-SEP-2026 Temporary End Date: 15-MAY-2027 Hours per Shift: 12 Length of Shift in weeks: 8 Shifts per cycle: 26 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $31.61 Maximum Salary: $38.56 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable
Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12. Completion of certificate or diploma related to Emergency Communications and Response, Law Enforcement, Security or Criminology.
Additional Required Qualifications:
High level of experience with Microsoft Office and email required. Demonstrated telephone skills are required. 3 – 5 years’ experience in a customer service environment. Requires a high degree of customer service, problem solving, interpersonal skills and critical thinking. Must have demonstrated experience resolving complex client issues. Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal is required; superior active listening and interpretative skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid First Aid certificate, BCLS-HCP training.
