Your Opportunity
Stantec is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Transportation/Traffic Engineer to complement and grow our skilled Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Team in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office. The opportunity could also be located in our Regina or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan offices, supporting the broader regional team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work in a team environment and want to be involved in exciting local, regional, national and international projects. Reporting to the Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Team Lead, you will assist in the pursuit of and be responsible for leading and managing transportation planning, traffic engineering, transportation safety, and multimodal transportation projects.
Opportunity provides for a hybrid work environment. In office presence is expected based on project needs, client meetings, and team collaboration

Your Key Responsibilities
- Conducting and overseeing traffic analysis using various software platforms (Synchro, SIDRA, Vistro, etc.).
- Leading and overseeing the completion of Traffic Impact Assessments.
- Conducting Transportation Safety Assessments, In Service Road Safety Reviews, and Road Safety Audits.
- Other technical assignments including data analysis, functional planning studies, transportation master plans, and multimodal transportation planning.
- Writing and editing technical reports and engineering studies.
- Consulting with agencies, stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and public.
- Coordinating with engineers and technical staff to ensure that the project needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and work plans for new assignments. Manage the development of scopes of work, level of effort estimates, and project schedules.
- Assist with business development to expand client base within the office and market segment.
- Overseeing quality control of project deliverables.
- Assist in staff development and mentoring of an established yet developing regional practice including mentorship of engineering and technical staff.
- Proactively look for ways to improve project delivery, quality, and efficiency.
- Support the creation of a diverse and driven culture developing tomorrow’s engineering solutions.
- Promote our strong safety culture, ensure this is at the forefront of our business, and lead by example.
- Proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic, Sidra, and Vistro traffic modelling softwares.
- Experience in the completion of Traffic Impact Assessment, transportation planning and functional design, and transportation master plans.
- Experience in transit and multimodal transportation planning.
- Experience in transportation safety.
- Familiarity with local, provincial and federal and regulatory requirements and standards.
- Ability to manage transportation staff in successful delivery of projects.
- Proposal preparation and business development experience.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft suite of Office 365 products.
- Knowledge of Manitoba transportation markets and processes, with strong past client relationships is an asset.
- Experience in project management of transportation projects is an asset.
- Experience in PTV Visum, PTV Vissim, and/or EMME modelling is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Professional registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
- Professional registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Saskatchewan is an asset.
- Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in the transportation engineering industry specifically related to transportation planning and traffic engineering.
