The Opportunity
The Wastewater Technician supports the design, implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of wastewater processes and equipment within the nitrile glove manufacturing facility at Medicom Manufacturing London. This is a hands-on, plant-based technical role. The Wastewater Technician works closely with Technical, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and EHS teams to ensure that processes meet quality, regulatory, safety, environmental, and efficiency requirements. The role includes process trials, troubleshooting, documentation, validation support, and training of operations personnel.
This is a newly created position to support our operational ramp-up.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $36 per hour. This position will be eligible for a merit increase in August 2026. Additional premiums may apply, including evening, night, weekend, or other shift premiums where applicable.

What You Will Do
- Support the installation, commissioning, start-up, and optimization of new wastewater equipment.
- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment tanks, chemical dosing systems, centrifuges, and filter presses to separate and process material efficiently.
- Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples using both analytical instruments and manual testing methods to monitor pH, metals, solids, and other key parameters.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pumps, piping, and plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor system performance, adjust treatment processes, and implement improvements for efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate the technical and operational feasibility of process modifications.
- Verify compliance of equipment and processes with quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle various chemicals and systems according to health and safety standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
- Perform periodic process performance checks and validation support testing.
- Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, work instructions, process parameters, testing protocols, and technical reports.
- Document trials, changes, deviations, and improvement actions in a clear and traceable manner.
- Participate in cross-functional technical and production meetings.
- Support and train operators and technicians on new equipment, process changes, and standard work.
- May include other related duties as required, provided such duties are reasonable and consistent with the employee’s qualifications and role responsibilities.
- College diploma or technical degree in an Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related technical field.
- Currently holds an active Class 2 Wastewater Treatment License.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in wastewater treatment.
- Understanding of production processes, industrial equipment, and continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English in a manufacturing environment.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and industrial machinery.
- The role requires standing, walking, and physical activity, including working with tools and equipment, and may involve repetitive motions.
- Physical demands may include lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces, as required to perform maintenance and repair activities safely.
- The position may require shift work, overtime, and on-call availability, based on operational needs.
