Position Responsibilities:


If you are a rare individual who understands what makes content perform at scale and can turn ideas into videos that attract millions of views, this role is for you.

Martell Media is looking for an experienced YouTube Content Strategist who can help shape the future of the company's YouTube presence. This is not a junior content role. We are looking for someone who already understands YouTube at a high level, has a strong storytelling background, and can confidently bring recommendations, ideas, and strategic direction to the team.


Success in this role means consistently identifying content opportunities, creating compelling narratives, analyzing performance data, and helping develop content that grows both audience and revenue.


This role includes:

• Developing and owning YouTube content strategy focused on audience growth and engagement

• Generating high-potential video concepts with the ability to identify million-plus view opportunities

• Writing compelling scripts that align with channel objectives and audience interests

• Analyzing YouTube performance metrics and translating insights into actionable recommendations

• Continuously testing, optimizing, and improving content performance based on analytics

• Collaborating directly with Dan Martell and the broader content team on content planning and execution

• Participating in video production and filming when required

• Staying current on YouTube trends, platform changes, and emerging content opportunities

• Challenging assumptions and proactively identifying opportunities for channel growth and improvement

• Contributing to content systems and processes that support long-term channel success


Qualifications


• Proven experience developing content strategy for YouTube channels

• Strong understanding of YouTube analytics, audience behavior, retention metrics, and content optimization

• Demonstrated success creating, scripting, or producing high-performing YouTube content

• Exceptional storytelling and narrative development skills

• Experience identifying content trends and translating them into successful video concepts

• Ability to make strategic recommendations backed by performance data

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, creator-led environment

• Strong communication skills with confidence to present ideas and challenge existing approaches

• Experience in film production, directing, scriptwriting, or content production is considered a strong asset but is not required

• Self-starter who requires minimal oversight and can operate independently

Location: In Office-Kelowna, BC

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 CAD Base Salary + $18,000 variable

Employment Type: Full-Time Employee
