AP Clerk

A well-established and independent investment firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join its finance team in Vancouver.

About the Role
This role is initially a 1-year contract with movement to a permanent opportunity and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while maintaining strong internal controls. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Manage payment cycles, including preparing electronic payments and issuing cheques.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end closing activities.
• Assist in implementing and improving accounts payable processes and controls.
• Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Support other accounting functions as needed.

What You Bring:

• 2+ years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role.
• Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  

Compensation:

• $50,000-$55,000
• No benefits until a permanent opportunity is offered however, they can provide a bonus
• 3 weeks vacation
• Some flexibility on hybrid working after the probation period
