About The Role

We are looking for an Associate Category Manager, Factor who will help us build out and improve our vendor network and continuously improve our end-to-end sourcing process for the Factor brand. Reporting to the Category Manager, you will contribute to and execute our strategic roadmap, manage vendor relationships, support negotiations, launch new ingredients and packaging, and streamline internal procurement processes. As part of the Procurement team, you will play a key role in improving our costs, ingredient quality, supply chain reliability, and product innovation - helping us deliver the best possible value to our customers.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support development and execution of our sourcing strategy and lead in:
    • Cost: consistently optimize our cost base
    • Quality: identify and reduce quality errors; build Ready-To-Eat specific solutions
    • Reliability: ensure supply availability and proactively mitigate risk in the supply chain
    • Customer offering: drive product innovation and create an unique competitive advantage
  • Leverage large internal datasets and industry benchmarks to: report on team progress against objectives, identify and prioritize new opportunities, and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead and/or support vendor negotiation and selection process for multiple commodity groups
  • Manage new and existing vendor relationships, providing feedback on performance and collaborating on key initiatives
  • Work with our in-house culinary team to prioritize and develop new products that deliver improved value for our customers
  • Collaborate with the Food Safety and Quality team to ensure the highest quality product is consistently delivered to customers.
  • Partner with the Supplier Quality team to ensure all selected suppliers comply with ready to eat Quality Standards.
At a Minimum, You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related discipline or
  • 3-5 years of related experience in a hands-on, high performance environment (ideal backgrounds include: sourcing, supply chain, operations, or consulting)
  • Analytical and data skills: able to dig through data independently and draw helpful insights / conclusions. Strong Excel skills are a must!
  • Structured approach and communication style: ability to clearly and persuasively communicate with a large variety of stakeholders
  • A love for solving complex, ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment with constant change and limited direction
  • An ability to travel nationally to support business needs
  • Bonus: Strategic sourcing experience; ideally across different steps of the sourcing process; comfortable managing negotiations with vendors
  • Bonus: Experience in food purchasing
