What You’ll Do
- Work closely with our Team Defense to understand sector priorities and shape strategic relationships.
- Focus on identifying and qualifying new leads, especially in complex sectors such as national security and government.
- Map organizations, identify decision-makers, and develop tailored outreach strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine messaging and drive go-to-market campaigns.
- Represent Avalon at trade shows, demos, and industry events, with frequent U.S. travel.
- Engage with potential customers to uncover pain points and position our technology as the solution.
- Turn product questions and objections into valuable insights and new opportunities.
- Follow up with intent, adapt quickly, and help shape how we go to market.
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field — or equivalent experience in a customer-facing or business development-driven role, ideally in a start-up environment.
- A self-starter mindset — you’re proactive, resourceful, and not afraid to figure things out as you go.
- A relationship-first approach to business development — you listen well, build trust quickly, and deliver on promises.
- Experience working in or selling to defense/government sectors is a strong asset (especially in operations, procurement, or technical systems).
- Confidence in technical conversations and a talent for translating complex ideas into clear value.
- Comfortable navigating long sales cycles and high-stakes customer conversations.
- Strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the U.S. for meetings and events.
