We are currently seeking a Coax Splicer Technician to join our operations in a permanent, full-time position.
Coax Splicer Technicians are responsible for all aspects of coaxial cable splicing, including cable preparation, connectorization, sweeping, testing, and troubleshooting of aerial and underground coax systems.
As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to travel across the Canadian provinces. While on the road, we prioritize your comfort by providing daily per diem and accommodations paid for by the company.
This role requires willingness to travel, work a minimum of 40 hours per week, and have a valid driver’s license and reasonable driver’s abstract.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot aerial and underground coaxial cables;
- Optimize new nodes and splice in node splits to improve network capacity;
- Operate RF meters and time-domain reflectometers (TDR);
- Interpret and follow CATV telecommunications prints and designs;
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on coaxial networks;
- Work safely in outdoor utility and construction sites in various weather conditions;
- Ensure all work is clearly documented and labeled per company standards;
- Maintain safety and project documentation.
- Demonstrated Ability to Working at heights;
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination;
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation;
- Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere;
- Carry, raise and climb a ladder;
- Carry, lift and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels);
- Self-disciplined, self-motivated and organized.
- Valid driver’s license (Class DZ/Class 3), airbrakes or willing to obtain Airbrakes endorsement;
- Reasonable driver abstract;
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required;
- Ability to travel (Company provides paid accommodations and a daily per-diem when travelling);
- The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check;
- The successful candidate must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship required.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in coaxial cable splicing and troubleshooting;
- Proficient with RF testing tools and TDR;
- Experience working on both aerial and underground coax cable systems;
- Familiarity with telecommunications network design and node optimization;
- Previous experience in outside plant construction is considered an asset.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level;
- Compensation is paid out every week on Thursdays;
