Controller

Our client, a locally owned and continually growing marine organization based in Charlottetown, PE is seeking an experienced Controller to manage financial operations. This permanent position is ideal for a self-driven, proactive, and seasoned professional, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with senior leadership on financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Prepare and oversee monthly financial statements
• Support financial planning, forecasting, and budget preparation
• Provide financial analysis to support business decisions
• Manage treasury functions for multiple entities
• Monitor and enforce financial policies, practices, and internal controls
• Lead financial projects and process improvements
• Collaborate with and support the accounting team and senior leadership
• Perform other related duties as required

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA) is required
• Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
• Proficiency in Sage software, Payworks, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
