Reporting to the Head Cook (or his/her delegate), the Cook is responsible to assistant the Head Cook in food preparation which include but not limited to chopping, cutting, marinating, and peeling at the assigned store or Central Kitchen. S/he is also responsible for checking the quality/quantities of the receiving food products, carry and store the products received, the cleanliness of kitchen utensils, including tools, containers, clothes, towels, working and food storage areas.

Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 36 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 13 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

- Responsible for the storage of food, material, and all ingredients
- Responsible for preparing ingredients before cooking, such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and cleaning seafood, etc
- Ensure proper receiving is done and food is stored in appropriate conditions
- Responsible for his or her own station, ensuring all items are appropriately cleaned and ready for use before and after each shift
- Ensure recipes, ingredient specifications, quantity, quality, cooking time as stated in the SOPs are being executed
- Ensure the kitchen meets sanitation standards as set by the Head Chef and Food safety
- Ensure product quality, food safety, freshness and
- FIFO is strictly practiced within the department
- Ensure that food is properly stored and handled at
- all times by ensuring all temperature records are
- properly completed
- Responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment
- and tools maintenance; ensure garbage, recycled
- materials and other disposable items are handled
- timely and properly
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior(s)
- Possess knowledge、skills and prior experience in making Kitchen products (include BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi and/or others Semi-finished Products)
- Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety and food safety (Food Safe Certification requires)
- Good communication skills, able to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) and basic English
- Good organization, and problem-solving skills
- Flexible to work in various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, morning and evening hours
- Possess basic computer skills in MS Office
