A leading Financial Services, Real Estate and Asset Management company
Job Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced and professional accountant to join the corporate accounting team. This position will involve handling accounting operations, particularly for real estate and finance, and may require interaction with other departments and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily accounting reports for mortgages, deposits, savings, and cash balances
- Verify electronic banking transactions daily
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations and subledger reconciliations
- Manage daily cash positions and prepare journal entries
- Process cheque deposits and wire transfers
- Update and maintain financial records and accounting working papers
- Handle corporate tax instalment payments for selected entities
- Maintain financial records for related companies and assist with financial statement preparation
- Assist in preparation of schedules and documents for external auditors
- Manage Accounts Payable
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation or equivalent (or working towards it)
- Degree/diploma in finance, accounting, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Sage 300 or willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing environments
- Previous financial services experience is an asset
