Counsellor (Social Work or Psychologist)

Our Counsellors provide high-quality mental health services via a rapid-access, self-referral, single-session counselling service. The clinical services provided are designed to provide a safe space for adults (18+) in the community, of all genders and sexual orientations, including individuals, couples, and families, to help support individuals through some of life’s challenges.

What you Need:

• Completed a Clinical Master’s Degree in either Social Work, Sexology, Clinical Counseling, Clinical Psychology or another clinical field of study.
• Registration/ Licensure with an approved professional body
• Minimum of two years of experience working in the field
• Good clinical judgement and understanding of your responsibilities regarding confidentiality.
• Strong work ethic and professionalism.
• Abilities to work over the phone and through chats
  
  
  

What you are Responsible for:

• Contact clients within required period and according to assigned level of risk
• Provides single session counselling to clients to facilitate their attainment of goals
• Provides assessment/counselling in person, telephonically and via video on the phone as clinically appropriate and with appropriate training
• Refers clients to community resources or other external resources as part of the established plan
• Consults with Clinical Director/Manager and colleagues regarding counselling cases and related issues.
• Follows case booking procedures to ensure confidentiality.
• Complies to procedures to ensure client is informed about privacy and confidentiality.
• Reflects TELUS Health values and promotes TELUS Health services outside of the company.
