Join Our Team as a Customs Analyst at Johnson Electric!

Location: Mississauga, Canada (100% onsite)

As our next Customs Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of performing day-to-day operational customs activities, such as tariff classification, valuation confirmation, Certificate of Origin preparation, and other customs-related tasks. Your expertise in international trade and customs compliance will be crucial in driving our success and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform day-to-day operational customs activities, such as identifying and reconciling missing documentation for import shipments, completing tariff classification for missing entry line items, and confirming valuation as required for customs entries.
  • Assist in completing customs compliance activities such as B2 and B3 entry audits and adjustments.
  • Maintain Certificates of Origin for various Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) Canada participates in.
  • Ensure up-to-date status for customs bonds through the CARM portal.
  • Support the Regional Logistics & Compliance Team in identifying and implementing cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in international trade, particularly at a Tier 1 automotive company.
  • Strong knowledge of customs operations, tariff classification, and customs compliance.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with customs internal audits and Certificate of Origin rules.
  • Customs Broker License and CCS certification.
