As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure cloud services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, optimize data workflows, and support data-driven decision-making processes. Additionally, you will monitor data operations and pipelines including data ingestion, processing, and storage, to ensure seamless data flow and availability for business needs.

The Data Engineer Will
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
- Integrate data from various sources, including on-premises and cloud-based systems, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
- Develop and maintain data transformation processes to clean, enrich, and aggregate data for analytics and reporting.
- Develop and optimize data models and data flows in Azure SQL, SQL Warehouse, and Delta Lake.
- Ownership: Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, and optimize data operations for efficiency and reliability
- Adhere to data compliance, data security, and data governance policies established by Data Governance and Architecture Team.
- Work closely with analysts, data engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Ensure Data safety, guided by cyber security policies established by the Security Team.
- Implement best practices for data architecture, data quality, and metadata management.
- Document data engineering processes, architectures, and workflows.
- BSc in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in data engineering, with a focus on Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure SQL Warehouse, and Azure cloud services.
- Strong knowledge of Agile change management, continuous integration and development using Azure DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or PySpark.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed computing.
- Bias for Action: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Teamwork: Foster a collaborative team environment by working closely with colleagues, sharing knowledge, and supporting team goals. Promote open communication and a positive work culture to achieve collective success.
- Knowledge of Azure Cloud Services administration and operations principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server stack including T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Azure certification such as Azure Data Engineer Associate is an asset.
