About The Role

Rose Rocket's product has successfully evolved into a configurable transportation platform, but our data pipeline infrastructure remains built for use-case-specific and mapping-specific implementations.

The Opportunity: We're seeking a Data Engineer and Developer to lead the ground-up transformation of our data infrastructure to match our platform ambitions. You'll architect scalable, configurable data pipelines that can power this platform vision.

The Role

• Hybrid Software and Data Engineer position focused on AI-enabled infrastructure
• Drive "shift-left" initiatives to empower developers, agents, and customers to access the correct data in the most useful ways
• Build and support infrastructure and tooling that bridges the gap between development and data operations
• Curiosity about emergent technologies and practices
• Able to self start and drive outcomes from vague requirements
• Communicates effectively with wide range of stakeholders, from developer to leadership
• Comfortable working in rapidly changing startup environment
  
  

What You'll Do

Infrastructure & Tooling Development

• Design and build developer-facing tools and infrastructure for data stack interaction
• Implement governance frameworks for data retention, privacy, and classification
• Develop and support data pipeline solutions using modern ELT/ETL practices
• Develop and support self-service analytics platforms that enable user autonomy
  
  

Data Engineering & Architecture

• Architect and maintain scalable data infrastructure using modern lakehouse technologies
• Implement and optimize connectors for seamless data ingestion and management
• Build and maintain dbt models for data transformation and business logic
• Maintain and optimize our Warehouse and Lakehouse infrastructure spend
  
  

AI & Analytics Integration

• Develop AI-powered data retrieval and interaction systems
• Build and support AI agents and workflows that interact effectively with the data layer
• Implement and support model access and management infrastructure
• Build and support automated reporting and BI solutions that surface actionable insights
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with teams and leadership to enable data-driven decision making
• Mentor developers on data best practices and tooling adoption
  
  

Technical Skills

What You Need to Succeed:

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Javascript, Typescript
• Data Hosting: Experience with Snowflake, Postgres
• Data Processing: Experience with Airflow, DBT, Lambda
• Data Integration: Experience with Fivetran, Omni, Matia
