Digital Communications Specialist

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Engagement, the Digital Communications Specialist leads NNPBC’s digital presence, creates compelling content, and helps deepen engagement with members and stakeholders. n this full-time, term-based, remote role, you’ll play a key role in shaping and amplifying NNPBC’s voice across digital platforms, ensuring that our content is timely, relevant, and aligned with our values and strategic priorities.

Term: Full-time until December 15, 2026 (16-month term, with the possibility of extension pending funding)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead digital platform management: Oversee NNPBC’s website and social media channels, handling content planning, publishing, partner collaboration, and audience engagement to create a consistent digital presence that nurtures growth.
- Create and curate content: Develop clear and engaging written, visual, and multimedia content that supports member initiatives, programs, advocacy, and events, using an editorial calendar to stay organized and strategic.
- Measure and improve performance: Use tools like Google Analytics and social media insights to track how our content is performing, report on results, and guide future communications efforts.
- Manage brand guidelines: Maintain NNPBC’s brand and style guides, applying them to materials and supporting staff to ensure every communication reflects our voice, tone, and visual identity.
- Support member engagement and event communications: Collaborate with the Manager, Member Services and Events to create and share content that supports member growth and connection, including through virtual and in-person events.
- Create professional development and learning content: Collaborate with the education team to promote training opportunities, support webinars, and create accessible, easy-to-use learning resources.
- Stay on top of trends: Keep up with the latest in health care, nursing, and communications to spot opportunities for timely and relevant content and engagement.
- Champion inclusive communications: Create content that’s accessible and welcoming to all, ensuring our messages reach and resonate with diverse audiences.
- Support budgeting and project coordination: Assist with managing budgets, timelines, plans, and vendor relationships to keep communications projects running smoothly.
- Contribute to team and organizational priorities: Provide adaptable support to other communications efforts during busy periods or special projects, helping the organization stay agile and responsive to its members.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- 2–4 years of professional experience in communications, digital marketing, or a related field, preferably within a nonprofit, association, or health care environment.
- Proven ability to manage and grow digital platforms, including websites and social media channels.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities, with experience developing clear, engaging, and values-aligned messaging across formats.
- Skilled in using design tools like Canva or Adobe suite to create visually appealing digital and print materials.
- Experience using analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and social media insights) to monitor and report on performance.
- Solid organizational and project coordination skills, including experience managing timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in communications.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to work independently in a remote environment while contributing to a small team.
- An understanding of or strong interest in health care and the nursing profession in British Columbia is highly desirable.

- Flexible work environment with occasional travel required for meetings, events, or team gatherings.
