About The Role
We are looking for a Director, Software Development, to join our Personal Lines Policy Admin System department as our leader in architecture, portfolio management and transformation.
Our ideal candidate is a selfless and passionate advocate for our teams, our customers, our success, and the technological vision of our group. Working at the intersection of technology and people, they must balance the long-term direction, stakeholder delivery and individual careers of team members to ensure success in all these dimensions.
In this role the incumbent will partner closely with senior leadership and business partner stakeholders to be the overall leader of the portfolio, develop and lead technology roadmap to meet future business requirements and target architecture strategy ensuring a strong technical product.

What You'll Do Here
- Contribute to a great work environment by providing exemplary leadership and by mentoring our emerging leaders and managers.
- Work in close collaboration with other software development directors in various fields while ensuring that best practices are implemented
- Create and promote the long‐term architectural vision that is scalable and aligned with Intact's business needs and industry best practices.
- Leading our Architecture teams and owning our technical product backlog development (health) roadmap and execution
- Lead our portfolio management of prioritisation, close partnership with our business groups, the IT Business Office and finance teams.
- Collaborate with other departments to align software development goals with overall corporate objectives.
- Lead our transformation journey to help transform Intact Financial Corporation IT to a product-centric technology operating model seamlessly integrating feature development, operations, security & reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in a management position at a Director-level with experience managing managers and leading transformation.
- Strong ambassador of Intact’s values and Leadership Success Factors
- In-depth knowledge of software engineering principles, processes and practices
- Strong skills in critical thinking, decision-making, problem solving, and attention to details.
- Proven success in budget management of large projects/portfolios, departments and people/team resources.
- Strong overall technologist who has a passion for learning and growing every day.
- Bilingual (French and English) - Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
- *For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
- *No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada..
