Job Description
To continue its mission to be an industry leader in earth science and geomorphic consulting services, GEO Morphix is hiring a Project Lead with experience in the fields of fluvial geomorphology and/or earth/environmental science. In this role, you will manage and deliver multi-disciplinary projects with a focus on fluvial geomorphology to support watershed planning/management and stream and wetland restoration. You will coordinate technical teams, engage with clients and stakeholders, and ensure that all work is scientifically sound, regulatory compliant, and delivered on time and within budget. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in river systems, sediment dynamics, watershed processes, and environmental permitting.
Responsibilities
- Guide multidisciplinary project teams through all project phases, from scoping and fieldwork to analysis and reporting
- Lead the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and deliverables, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client expectations and regulatory standards
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders
- Lead and support internal and external meetings, as required
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring project profitability and timely execution
- Manage the entire timeline of projects, from proposals to client meetings and project milestones
- Prepare invoices and manage project budgets
- Provide mentorship and leadership to support the growth of our internal team members, fostering a collaborative, learning-oriented team culture
Qualifications
- Degree in environmental science, geomorphology, physical geography, earth sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or applied geomorphology, with at least 3 years in a project management/coordination role
- Understanding of fluvial processes, watershed dynamics, erosion and sediment transport, and river/stream rehabilitation
- Excellent project management skills, including budget tracking, scheduling, and team coordination across multiple projects
- Effective communicator with demonstrated experience in client relations, proposal writing, and team mentorship
- Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, permitting requirements, and conservation authority processes
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training is an asset
- Valid G Class driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork or client meetings and events
Additional Information
- Location: 36 Main Street North, Campbellville, ON
- Job Status: Permanent, salaried
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Travel: Occasional travel to client meetings and events in Southern Ontario
