Job Summary
The Facilities Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and comfort of Elim Village’s retirement community. This role is responsible for overseeing suite refurbishments, coordinating maintenance work, supervising trade contractors, managing material procurement, and ensuring a high standard of facility operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and customer-focused with strong leadership and technical skills.

Job Summary
The Facilities Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and comfort of Elim Village’s retirement community. This role is responsible for overseeing suite refurbishments, coordinating maintenance work, supervising trade contractors, managing material procurement, and ensuring a high standard of facility operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and customer-focused with strong leadership and technical skills.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary certificate or equivalent experience in a skilled trade (e.g. electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities, maintenance, or building operations.
- Proven supervisory experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with long-term care or hospitality environments is preferred.
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 driver’s license with a reliable transportation record (required for occasional travel between campuses).
Suite Refurbishments and Capital Projects
- Attend suite Exit Inventories and coordinate with Marketing and residents.
- Tour and assess suites to scope work prior to contractor involvement.
- Organize and manage suite refurbishments including trade scheduling and follow-ups.
- Create and track project tickets in Worxhub.
- Ensure all refurbishments are completed on time and to quality standards.
- Monitor and delegate incoming maintenance requests via Worxhub.
- Create and assign work orders to and for team members.
- Follow up on unclear or incomplete work requests.
- Set priorities for preventive maintenance and repair schedules.
- Source, purchase and pick up supplies and materials, as needed.
- Track, order, and manage stock of appliances and care equipment.
- Coordinate with suppliers for delivery, returns, or pickups.
- Manage disposal of obsolete appliances and other recyclable materials.
- Schedule and coordinate regular fire drills across all buildings.
- Communicate with monitoring companies and reset alarm systems as needed.
- Ensure training and drills are documented.
- Liaise with external contractors for repairs, refurbishments, and special projects.
- Notify residents and staff of repair schedules or service shutdowns.
- Present Facilities updates at resident meetings as required.
- Track, code and approve vendor and trade invoices in Yardi Senior Living.
- Maintain records of appliances, equipment and other assets in Worxhub.
- Key management, including cutting keys using in-house key cutting equipment.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts across campus facilities.
- Must be available for an on-call rotation (including weekends and after hours).
- Requires physical activity (e.g. lifting up to 75 lbs. and working indoors/outdoors).
- Safety gear may be required on-site to perform specific duties.
- Strong technical and mechanical knowledge, comfortable using power tools, and troubleshooting systems.
- Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond quickly to emerging needs.
- Empathy and patience when working in a seniors’ living environment.
- Computer competency, including MS Office 365 and facility management or administrative software (e.g. Worxhub and Yardi Senior Living).

Notes
- Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.
- This is a full-time position with the hours of work including on call for the weekends (rotation basis) and weeknights after hours.
- Requires a reliable mode of transportation.
- Salary Range: $ 76,450 – $86,500 (annually)
