Our client in the agriculture industry is looking for a Farm Manager to join their team in Leamington, Ontario. The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily farm activities, maintenance, team management, crop production, and process improvements to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Our client in the agriculture industry is looking for a Farm Manager to join their team in Leamington, Ontario. The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily farm activities, maintenance, team management, crop production, and process improvements to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations while fostering a collaborative work environment.
What Youll Be Responsible For
- Overseeing daily farm operations and maintenance activities, including crop inspections, operational meetings, responding to alarms, and ensuring clear communication with internal teams, vendors, clients, and consultants under the supervision of the Head Grower and CEO.
- Managing scheduling and execution of planting, harvesting, and cleanout processes to ensure efficient workflow.
- Leading or supporting initiatives to implement new systems, optimize procedures, and drive continuous improvement.
- Supervising routine and preventative maintenance across facilities, equipment, vehicles, and grounds, utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise to troubleshoot issues and minimize downtime.
- Delivering regular performance updates through reports to track progress and maintain transparency.
- Developing and mentoring supervisory staff, including training programs, performance evaluations, and fostering professional growth.
- Collaborating with HR and supervisors on workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and training, while proactively addressing staffing needs and challenges.
- Promoting a positive work environment by resolving personnel issues and encouraging teamwork and accountability.
- Supporting budget planning and expense monitoring related to maintenance, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, food safety, and legal standards through regular inspections of crops and facilities.
- Taking on additional responsibilities as needed to meet operational goals and uphold company standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Operations, or other related disciplines.
- 7+ years of proven leadership experience with a track record of guiding teams effectively.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while ensuring attention to detail and quality.
- Possesses an analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Skilled at delegating responsibilities appropriately while considering employees interests, development, and competencies.
- Experience in managing multiple sites and departments simultaneously, both directly and cross-functionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Relevant crop experience, understanding the agricultural landscape and supporting growing teams, even if not directly involved in crop production.
- Knowledge or experience with Cogen generators is preferred, or a mechanical background that enables quick learning in this area.
- Proficiency in Spanish as a second language is considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience with PRIVA software is recognized as an advantage.
