Software Engineer - Consumer Software Installation Systems

As a Software Engineer focused on Consumer Software Installation Systems, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing the user-facing components of our software installation, update, and uninstallation tools. While your primary focus will be on creating exceptional UI experiences, you will also contribute to the underlying backend systems that support these processes.
This is based in Canada as a remote position. We will only consider candidates currently in Canada and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

As a Software Engineer focused on Consumer Software Installation Systems, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing the user-facing components of our software installation, update, and uninstallation tools. About The Role
- Primarily design, develop, and maintain the user interface (UI) for installers, updaters, and uninstallers for McAfee software on Windows platforms, ensuring a user-friendly and efficient experience.
- Utilize your expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, and especially React, to build engaging and responsive interfaces.
- Develop and maintain the web backend infrastructure (C# ASP.NET, AWS) that supports the functionality of software distribution, installation and updates.
- Implement and adhere to Windows security best practices to ensure the security of the UI and related processes.
- Ensure the quality and reliability of your code through rigorous unit testing, automation testing, static code analysis, code coverage, and end-to-end testing.
- Integrate software analytics and telemetry to gain insights into the distribution and installation systems, enabling data-driven improvements.
- Work within a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment, utilizing tools like Jenkins pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Embrace a developer testing mindset, taking ownership of code quality through thorough testing practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, particularly in discussing UI/UX concepts.
- Take initiative, manage your tasks effectively, and drive projects to successful completion.
- You must showcase demonstrable skills and experience in full stack development with C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and React.
