PART 1: DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This position is primarily responsible for the machining of parts for agitator assembly and/or for the assembly of these parts to create agitation equipment. This includes the confirmation for accuracy both before assembly and after assembly to ensure proper tolerance and adherence to MixPro Quality Assurance Program.

• PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES AND KEY RESULTS: Identify the key areas where the incumbent is accountable for achieving results. For each area, briefly describe the results expected. Do not note all the individual steps in tasks, but rather stress the end result. For each statement, ask “what is done” and “to what purpose”. • Confirming the suitability of the piece of material, whether pre-fabricated (welded) or raw sourced, for the machining operation required.
• Ensuring the finished part is suitable for use in the next stage of fabrication or assembly by verifying the actual dimensions to the fabrication drawing of that part.
• Ensure the part or assembly is of the highest quality possible from the machining or assembly stage of fabrication.
• Ensure the work area and equipment are kept clean and creates a safe work environment.

CONTACT PURPOSE

Production personnel Collaborate and troubleshoot the manufacture or assembly of the parts with regards to quality and conformance to the manufacturing drawing.

Design Team Collaborate and detail any deficiencies in the fabrication drawings for this position.

Shop Supervisor As a direct report.

• PROBLEM SOLVING: Describe the principal problems typically solved by the incumbent in this position. (the biggest “headaches; most complex issues).
• Determining that the manufacturing drawing contains the appropriate information to allow the safe manufacture of the part assigned.
• Ensuring the part / material to be machined has no issues (ie. holes not too close to edge of material; raw material quality) with regards to the final creation of the piece to be machined.
• Determining the manufactured / purchased parts received are suitable for the assembly operation.
• Ensuring the equipment is kept in good operating fashion and is safe for operation.
• NATURE OF DECISION MAKING: Identify the decisions the incumbent in this position is expected to handle independently and decisions the incumbent would refer to others for approval.

The quality impact of the final product can be greatly affected by the incumbent’s capabilities. Significant cost impacts can result from poor or delinquent actions during the machining and/or assembly processes. The difficulty and the nature of these problems are fairly straight forward and simplistic in the solution of the problem. (Ask!)

There is presently a Quality Assurance Program in place which deals with non-conforming parts which eliminates any decision making requirements from the incumbent. Interpersonal skills are greatly advantageous.
