About The Role

Are you passionate about movies and sales? At AJAX we're looking for an outstanding Head of New Business with a proven track record in sales and a deep understanding of the commercial production, post production & advertising industries. This leadership role will be instrumental in expanding & maintaining our client base, identifying strategic opportunities, and fostering partnerships that align with our creative vision. You will work closely with senior leadership to shape and execute our business development strategy, positioning us as a leading player in the industry.

What you"ll do

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth and increase market share within the creative production and post production industry.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities, focusing on partnerships and collaborations with high-impact potential.
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new partnership & client opportunities in Canada and the USA. Foster relationships with potential clients, collaborators, and industry influencers to expand market reach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including creative agencies, marketing agencies, medium to enterprise sized brands, production companies and other industry players.
  • Collaborate with our intake producer, executive producer and creative teams to create tailored pitches and presentations that showcase our unique value proposition.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, creative, production and post production to ensure cohesive strategies and effective execution of campaigns and projects.
  • Lead contract negotiations and closing deals that align with our business & creative goals.
  • Mentor and guide a small team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance and partnership outcomes, using data to drive decision-making and strategy adjustments.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Represent Ajax Creative at industry events, conferences, and meetings, effectively communicating our brand values and service offerings.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in inbound and outbound sales and business development, ideally with at least 5+ years of experience in the advertising industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of the North American media production and advertising industry landscape.
  • Experience working with agencies and/or large-sized brands is required, with the ability to navigate and build relationships within these entities.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a history of driving successful business development initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and inspire confidence in prospective clients.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working remotely and managing a team in a virtual setting is an asset.
  • Experience with HubSpot is a plus.
