The Installation & Field Operations Training Manager will oversee the competency development and technical training management system for both subcontractors and Alstom Installation teams, ensuring compliance with Alstom standards. This role will focus on enhancing workforce skills, optimizing training programs, and fostering a culture of continuous professional development.

The Installation & Field Operations Training Manager will oversee the competency development and technical training management system for both subcontractors and Alstom Installation teams, ensuring compliance with Alstom standards. This role will focus on enhancing workforce skills, optimizing training programs, and fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
Responsibilities
- Implement a dedicated Training Competency Management system is essential to ensure the effective management of the competency development process for both subcontractors and Alstom Installation & Field Operations employees.
- Oversee Alstom competency training management system that integrates the technical training needs of all personnel.
- Ensure that all employees and subcontractors meet the required competency levels, reducing the risk of non-compliance and enhancing overall safety
- Assess the specific competency needs of both internal and subcontractor teams, designing targeted training solutions that address skill gaps and promote continuous professional development
- Facilitate seamless coordination between departments and subcontractors, ensuring that technical training documentation, processes, and feedback mechanisms are effectively communicated and implemented
- Establish metrics to monitor competency progression and training effectiveness on technical areas, enabling data-driven decisions to enhance employee performance and operational efficiency.
- Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Relevant certifications in training and competency management (e.g., IRSE, Train the Trainer, or equivalent).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in training management, competency assessment, or related fields within the railway or engineering sector.
- Experience in railway
- Proven experience in managing training programs and working with subcontractors to enhance workforce competencies.
- Strong understanding of IRSE standards and regulations related to training and competency.
- Environmental, Health and Safety background desired
- Experience of management by Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives desired
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Quality focused, team player
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency in computer office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Able to work in the office and field under seasonal environmental conditions (fit for duty).
- Able to work under the safety rules outlined by site, company, and industry.
- Occasional international travel may be required
