Reporting to the Leader, National Casualty and Bodily Injury Claims, you have a track record of progressively challenging claims handling. You will be accountable for the investigation, negotiation and settlement of Intermediate Third Party Bodily Injury claims. You are motivated by a challenge and strive to continually develop yourself and others. You actively support change and seek to improve. You have effectively managed a portfolio of Automobile Bodily Injury, or Accident Benefit Claims, or Automobile PD Claims, or Property Claims of increasing complexity. You continually support the Team environment and raise your hand to assist others. You have a desire to be part of a diverse, highly engaged and high-performance team.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Reporting to the Team Leader, Casualty, you are accountable for managing a portfolio of Intermediate Bodily Injury Claims and Property Liability Claims, both injury and property damage.
  • Engage all stakeholders in the effective management of a claim including underwriting and senior leadership
  • Confirming policy coverages, investigating claims to determine liability and quantum. Maintaining detailed file records.
  • Attending/participating in mediations, pre-trials and settlement initiatives.
  • Settle claims directly with Plaintiff’s Counsel.
  • Direct and Instruct Defence Counsel.
  • Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions, whether with customer, co-workers or vendors
  • Perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Strive to continually push the boundaries of your adjusting experience and personal learnings
  • Team player adaptable to changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently


What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree, a college diploma or the CIP designation
  • Minimum 3 years of claims handling experience
  • Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
  • Perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure
  • Team player adaptable to a changing environment
  • You’re dependable with strong interpersonal skills
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You’re focused on building engagement and culture
  • Proficient in MS Office and strong computer skills
  • Bilingualism in both English and French or other languages is an asset
  • Licensed in multiple provinces is an asset


Salary range is $50,200 - $92,500
