Role: Junior Financial Analyst - Credit and Debt Management

Status: Full-Time

Department: Credit and Specialty Collections

Division: Enercare Home Services

Location: Markham

This individual will be responsible for key financial functions in the Call Centre and Collections group. These functions include management of third-party invoices, accruals for month end processes, creating month end variance analysis reports, and supporting ad hoc financial reporting for the business.

This position will interact regularly with individuals across the team to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, accruals for month end and ad hoc needs as required.

Responsibilities

  • Track all incoming invoices, securing approval from department leads, and submitting them for processing with AP.
  • Act as point of contact for vendors inquiring on payment status.
  • Work with department directors and managers through the month end process, accruing for expenses and ensuring all key accounts are accurate.
  • Provide variance analysis reporting on month end, working with directors and managers to explain variances.
  • Provide meaningful analysis, in-depth review and sensible commentary on month-over-month financial results
  • Liaise with business owners to project out balance of year forecast.
  • Support ad hoc projects looking for financial models to support their business case.
  • Ability to work comfortably with large data sets.
  • Provide supplementary & ad-hoc reporting / analysis as required.
  • Identify process improvements for existing month-end close process & reconciliations, execute and deliver the same.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Project work as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 1-2 years of accounting / finance experience
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated team player
