Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the team's governance routines in relation to the updates of applicable procedures and deck preparation for appropriate governance forums/meetings.
  • Challenge and verify that established standards and processes are followed and consistently applied (including monitoring and root cause analysis).
  • Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
  • Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions.
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Recommend actions that address the root cause of identified operational weaknesses to prevent recurrence by changing design and/ or execution.
  • Detect and track the status of and verify the completion of self-identified Issues and action plans by stakeholders.
  • Identify execution errors for prioritized remediation.
  • Planning, preparation and sourcing of metrics to senior management.
  • Proposing areas of improvement for review based on stakeholders input and analysis of related data.
  • Supporting creation of data review procedures including proposed scope and sampling approach.
  • Supporting the collation of data required for Audit/management reviews.
  • Identifying common themes and conduct root cause analysis with recommended mitigation.
  • Collating reports for senior management review and action.
  • Developing stakeholder relationships across all lines of defense.

Qualifications

  • Must have - Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance/internal audit/compliance testing/operational risk management, including industry standards and areas of regulatory focus.
  • Must have - Strong data analysis skill (e.g. SQL) along with an understanding of technical patterns used to consume and process data at scale.
  • Experience with some programming languages and Big Data technologies, including Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Spark.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Sound ethical judgment regarding professional conduct and business practices.
  • Inquisitive, pragmatic, and commercial problem-solving approach, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain complex issues clearly
