A quality inspector focused on machined parts ensures that manufactured components meet specific design and quality standards. This involves using precision measuring tools, inspecting for defects, and verifying compliance with drawings, blueprints, and other specifications. They play a crucial role in maintaining quality throughout the production process, from raw materials to finished products.

What You Will Do

  • Dimensional Inspection:

Using tools like calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances of machined parts.

  • Defect Detection:

Identifying and documenting any defects, such as nicks, scratches, cracks, or dimensional deviations.

  • Material and Process Verification:

Checking that materials, heat treatment, and other processes conform to requirements.

  • Compliance with Standards:

Ensuring parts meet industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality control plans.

  • Reporting:

Documenting inspection results, including any non-conformances, and communicating findings to relevant teams.

Work Experience

What You Will Bring:

  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Completion of High School or GED program
  • Precision Measurement: Proficiency in using various measuring tools and techniques.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Quality Control Principles: Understanding of quality control methodologies and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify root causes of defects and propose solutions.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to report findings and collaborate with others.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for identifying even minor defects.
  • Experience: Prior experience in quality inspection, particularly with machined parts, is often required.

Pay Range: 60,000 CAD - 90,000 CAD.

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in Oakville - ON

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Travel requirements: Due to the nature of the work, 10% of travel is required.
