  • This position is accountable for repairing, installing, and inspecting electronics or electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications. It also maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to the organization's electronic systems.
  • Planning, performing, and reporting on drivetrain (gearbox, main shaft, main bearing, generator bearings, etc.) inspections and repairs. This position is also accountable for troubleshooting for all components associated with the drivetrain (pumps, fans, sensors, etc.). 95% travel site-work-related is required. The mechanical specialist will interface with clients and manage small crews on a regular basis.
  • Position could report & assist O&M during periods of down time or travel to assist other jobs within the Advanced Maintenance team. Heavy lifts, Major Campaigns and Blades.
  • Relocation will not be offered for this role.


How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to describe complex damages, participate in the preparation of inspection and repair reports, and follow up on final resolution
  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance and electrical testing equipment for turbines Identify process improvements, including reduction of non-value added operations, increased productivity opportunities, increased safety opportunities, etc
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time - up to 95%
  • Technician must be able to work within the maximum safety guidelines using personal protection equipment
  • Perform other duties – Safe, team-oriented work habits are essential


What You Bring

  • High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent
  • Related Work Experience: 2-4 Years – Required
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time - up to 95%
  • FAA Part 107 License (Drone License)
  • Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with a clean driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks throughout employment with Siemens Energy Canada Limited.


About The Team

Join one of the world’s Leading suppliers of wind power solutions, Siemens Energy Canada Limited as an Ops Specialist Mechanical and Electrical Specialist & Drone Pilot!

This position is responsible for performing and reporting on various troubleshooting tasks, turbine inspections, and component repairs. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting support on all components associated with the wind turbine. 95% travel from site-to-site is required. The Ops Specialist Mechanical and Electrical Specialist & Drone Pilot will interface with clients and work with small crews on a regular basis. They are expected to be able to lead and manage their tasks with minimal supervision.

Job sites include all of the US and/or Canada.

Relocation will not be offered for this role.

Performs mainly pre-defined, technical tasks (for example, basic engineering, and maintenance jobs) and work packages on-site.

Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers' equipment.

Adheres to defined processes and applicable regulation
