Our Fleet Management Department is looking for a dedicated Parts Person II to join the team.

Position Responsibilities

As a Parts Person II in the Fleet Management department, you will perform Journeyman-level work in sourcing and issuing parts and supplies to support the Fleet Management maintenance team and other City departments. Reporting to the Fleet Parts Supervisor, you will:

  • Acquire and issue parts, materials, and supplies using a computerized fleet system, including specialized automotive parts
  • Maintain current records through data entry, pricing, checking, and issuing items
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties
  • Organize and maintain the parts area
  • Assist with shop work orders and other assigned duties
  • Participate in inventory audits
  • Operate forklifts safely when required
  • Pickup and deliver parts as needed
  • Work safely and promote a safe work environment
  • Follow operational policies and procedures
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to all internal and external clients
  • Communicate effectively with the maintenance team regarding ongoing parts support
  • Support effective team relationships within Fleet Management and across City departments
  • Participate in on-call duties as required

Qualifications

Education & Certification:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Inter-provincial Journeyman Parts Person Certification (required)
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License (a current 5-year driver’s abstract will be required if selected for interview)
  • Current Standard First Aid Certificate
  • Forklift Certification preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years as a Licensed Parts Person
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Fleet Maintenance setting is preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience using Fleet Management Systems, Parts Management Systems, and Shop Key Pro
  • Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and meet deadlines consistently
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting and performing manual tasks
  • Commitment to maintaining safe work practices

Hours

6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, on-call as scheduled.

Compensation

Starting Salary $40.31 – Parts Person II, per hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
