The Role

Reporting to the VP, Security and Smart Technologies, you will be a key player in safeguarding our clients' facilities and assets. Leveraging your skills in physical security, you will be responsible for providing high quality and responsive security consulting, assessing the threats and risks faced by Tiree’s clients and recommend and design measures to safeguard their facilities and assets.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop relationships by becoming a trusted security advisor and gaining a deep understanding of the security specifics and needs of Tiree’s clients.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess the physical security needs of our clients and develop customized safeguards and security measures.
  • Conduct Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs) and support the development of highly complex TRAs.
  • Determine and recommend physical security measures considering policies, people, and technologies that considers the principles of prevention, detection, response, and recovery to safeguard the facilities and assets of Tiree’s clients.
  • Support the development of Security Master Plans, Security Standards, Budgetary Estimates, and Implementation Plans.
  • Develop Concept Designs which includes systems descriptions and physical security mitigation strategies to address the identified requirements.
  • Conduct and/or support the development of Security Audits, Operational Reviews, site reviews, and security programs.
  • Develop and/or support the development of early design documentation such as Security Design Briefs, Concept of Operations, Preliminary Security Requirements, and other as required.
  • Review and provide input into the development of construction project documentation such as Functional Programs, Schematic Design, Conceptual and Detailed Designs, etc.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of physical security policies and procedures, ensuring they align with the requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging physical security trends, technologies, and threats, incorporating them into the proposed mitigation measures.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree or diploma in a related field such as security management, security systems technology, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Industry certification (examples include ASIS Board Certified, PSP, CPP, or other relevant certification such as PMP, CSPM, etc.)
  • Proven experience in risk assessments, determination of security risk mitigation strategies and design and implementation of physical security measures and safeguards, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASIS, NFPA, UL).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess security risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Existing Government of Canada Secret clearance.
