Job Summary And Requirements
This is to fill one full-time term position working 75 hours bi-weekly to June 24, 2026. Temporary assignments will be considered.

The Corporate Policy and Planning branch coordinates and advances policies and legislative initiatives to support the development of Yukon’s land and natural resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. The branch develops and delivers policies, strategies, programs and legislative instruments to support effective resource management.
The Policy Advisor excels in policy analysis, writing, research, oral presentations, and engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. The position applies critical thinking skills to analyze a broad variety of policy topics and develop well-reasoned recommendations in response to key issues in resource management. The role contributes to the sustainable development of Yukon's natural resources within a collaborative and dynamic team setting.

- Post-secondary education in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Communications, Law, Natural Resources or a related field
- Experience in policy development within a government context
- Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior levels of government on complex matters
- Experience developing and implementing plans and strategies; and writing reports, discussion papers and briefing notes
- Experience in leading and managing complex multi-staged projects
- Experience working with land and natural resources in a professional setting would be an asset
- Experience working and negotiating with other governments, First Nations and stakeholders would be an asset
