Job Title: Process Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid 2 days – Onsite Thursdays & Fridays)

Duration: 4 Months (High Potential for Multi-Year Extension)

About the Opportunity:

We are hiring a seasoned Process Engineer to support a critical records governance initiative within one of Canada’s top five banks. This high-profile project addresses compliance gaps in records and data management.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, redesigning, and implementing compliant processes that align with privacy, legal, and regulatory standards. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a foundational transformation in how sensitive client data is managed and protected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and update existing processes and procedures related to records and data governance.
  • Identify compliance gaps and develop remediation strategies to close them effectively.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to document end-to-end processes, including dependencies, inputs, and outputs.
  • Create new processes where none currently exist, ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Ensure all documentation is stored in SharePoint with appropriate access controls and versioning.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive sustainable process improvements.
  • May present process documentation and updates to senior leadership for validation and approval.
  • Work within a dynamic environment where processes must adapt quickly due to ongoing enterprise data hub (ADA) transformations.
  • Maintain a strong focus on privacy, legal, and compliance considerations, especially around sensitive client data.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Process Analyst or Process Engineer, ideally in financial services.
  • Tenured experienceupdating existing processes and procedures and ability to create new processes and ensure alignment
  • Expertise in Lean Six Sigma (certification preferred) and ADKAR change management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Word-based process documentation templates.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and SMEs.

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of records management, data governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with OSFI regulations, data retention policies, and privacy legislation.
  • Experience in commercial banking or custodial data environments.
  • Background in enterprise data hub or large-scale data transformation projects.
