Product Management (PRM) ensures the management of specific products / services as they progress along their lifecycle with both operational and strategic responsibility. Comprises positioning of the product / service in the respective markets, defined business models, segmentation, and pricing. Contains implementation of strategies set by portfolio management and ensures that products / services are developed or updated accordingly to the portfolio and in close linkage of R&D, technology, and markets (operators, end-users).

The Optics SW Service PLM works across NI Business Group teams (E.g., RBC CaPM / Bus, Mgmt, Customer Experience & Delivery, Program Management, Tendering, and Finance), and other organizations to oversee and manage the Optics SW service business.

This position owns part of the Optics SW service portfolio, service definitions, inputs to Statements of Work (SoW), service costing/pricing/margin, quote tool maintenance & support, provides support for pre-sales tendering and service contract closure, and oversees SWS Delivery from a cost management and lifecycle.

As Care PLM for Global Partner business, the individual will be required to prime service descriptions, review & critique business fundamentals applicable to managing Partner enablement, engaging with regional business primes on sales strategy, while owning costing / pricing and competitiveness of HWS & SWS offerings for Optics portfolio of products defined by market and updated according to regular market campaigns.

The perspective candidate will also own the existing NI SW Lifecycle tool (SSL) as well as contribute to the management of other Care tool databases like MQT and Sonar. Role includes priming marketing & sales material, roadmap, tool updates and enhancements, providing support for pre-sales tendering and service contract closure.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

Responsible for Software Services operational and business management throughout the Legacy Optics/Wavesuite/1830 ONE products and services lifecycle

  • Member of multiple cross-functional Product Core Teams to track, organize, and execute operational requirements and readiness for new product introduction and end of life Software Services-related lifecycle milestones.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver SW Service offers (Product PLM, Quality, Program Management, Pre-Sales, RBC, GPP, Partner Marketing).
  • Work with the SW Services delivery teams to drive execution of Software Services offers.
    • Monitor business KPIs; collaborate with Software Services delivery teams on corrective actions when necessary and continuously look for opportunities to introduce efficiencies.
  • Support RBC, CaPM, Program Management and Sales to address customer support issues and inquiries covering Optics products and Partners
  • Provide strategic and tactical support to Pre-sales/RBC organizations for new and renewal opportunities.
  • Define pricing strategy and pricing for Optics products and Partner services and maintain pricing tools, including inputs to CPQ for Optics Partners.

  • Basic understanding of the various IP & Optics NM platforms, use of Rest APIs and interworking with Optics products
  • Function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities

  • Understanding and application of basic Finance principles
  • Data mining and analysis
  • Communicate concisely to all levels across all organizations
  • Ability to be accountable for all dimensions of Software services (applicable to Care) for Optics and Partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Telecommunications preferred) or Management Degree
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in global SWS Operational and/or Business experience
  • Familiarity with Nokia entitlement and escalation systems (Cockpit, CARES / CDB, Sales Force)
  • Able to lead & drive others across organizations in a matrixed cross-functional environment with Finance, SWS Delivery teams, counter parts across Care SWS PLMs, Service Tendering, and management
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Flexibility to work across global time zones
