Overview

Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Product Owner.

Product Owner is responsible for delivering high quality and secured desktop, web, mobile and cloud applications in QSR domain. In this role, Product Owner will assist Technical Product Manager on creating software product vision and roadmap. Product Owner will then implement and execute product vision created by the Technical Product Manager and the team, driving the successful delivery of complex software products. Product Owner will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring that functional and technical requirements align with business goals. A Product Owner will translate business needs into actionable functional and technical requirements, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and make informed decisions to optimize product performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of software development processes.

This is a full-time position.

This position is hybrid role. Office based work will be performed from Mississauga and Niagara on the Lake office.

Responsibilities

  • Craft detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Define Product Requirements - understand, analyze, and document functional and non-functional Requirements.
  • Assist Technical Product Manager on creating and maintaining product vision and strategic roadmap ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market trends.
  • Work with Technical Product Manager and other internal stakeholders to help define the product vision and roadmap, aligning with the business goals of the organization.
  • Be the primary contact for the delivery team and stakeholders for information, work prioritization and decision making.
  • Work with engineering teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize backend performance improvements and scalability considerations. Balance feature development with technical debt reduction and system enhancements.
  • Lead, plan, and track the product through all phases of the lifecycle from inception to market introduction.
  • Participate/lead in project sizing, planning, and tracking activities for feature development.
  • Act as an SME for all the software products under PCI ISD group.
  • Create complete product documentation under the guidance of Technical Product Manager including Product knowledge base, User manual, Installation manual, Troubleshooting manual, release notes, product requirements document.
  • Create essential product development artifacts including use cases, glossaries, process flows, and entity relationship diagrams.
  • Monitor backend systems, logs, alerts, and notifications to ensure product reliability and performance.
  • Change Management: Lead change initiatives within the platform, ensuring adapting new technologies and business needs without disrupting user experience.
  • Manage integrations with third parties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering and Business Administration.
  • 7+ years of total experience. Minimum 4 years’ experience as a product owner for software products.
  • Experience modernizing existing products to next gen.
  • Agile certifications (CSPO, PSPO, CSM)
  • Experience delivering Windows, Web, and Mobile apps.
  • Experience delivering products with cloud solutions.
  • Experience working with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid development environment.
  • Experience using software project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Sharepoint.
  • Experience creating mockups/wireframes.
  • Strong technical background, with a solid understanding of software development processes, architecture, and technologies.
  • As a product owner, providing end to end oversight of product in partnership with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Self-motivated with good analytics capability, excellent hands-on skills and someone that enjoys delivering quality products.
  • Experience owning and driving products from discovery to delivery.
  • Team player, approachable, helpful, open-minded, problem solver, accountable, creative, adaptable, shows empathy and gratitude, has conflict resolution skills, has decision making skills, has leadership skills.
  • Effective collaboration and communication with peers and subordinates. Clear and effective communication of technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Communicates and explains concepts to junior team members, with a sensitivity to personal ability and cultural diversity.
  • Ability to provide update, information, and solutions to management proactively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on Point-of-sale systems would be an asset.
  • Experience in Quick Service Restaurants domain is a plus.
